“Leading and Healing with Pride” with Nathan Radabaugh

Nathan Radabaugh

Nathan Radabaugh

Nathan Radabaugh is an Iraq veteran with a conservative background, who now lives and works in the cannabis industry in northern California.
He is a friend and this conversation allows me to have a refreshing conversation with some one who is living a balance between progressive and conservative cultures.
We talk about warriorship, fatherhood, having pride and criticism for our country, the charm and dangers of progressive culture, and about taking responsibility for our own life (shadows and all).
This episode includes stories of transformation, trauma, compassion and the when life demands that we get into the muck and do what needs to be done.

Personal Development Resources:

We talk a lot about working on our own personal transformation, especially in groups. Here are resources related to somethings we discuss in the episode:

  • Nathan and I met through the The ManKind Project (MKP). It's a powerful and worldwide organization for men of all kinds. There is a sister organization to MKP called Women Within.

  • Human Awareness Institute (HAI) is another organization that offers powerful programming for personal transformation. HAI is available to all genders.

  • Here is a list of Universal Human Needs. Theoretically, meeting these needs is the motivation behind all human behavior. These come from Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and this list is from Mediate Your Life.

  • Here is a podcast from Scene on Radio about Men and Warriorship

  • Here is Brené Brown's definition of True Belonging from her 2017 book Braving the Wilderness:
"True belonging Is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and staying alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn't require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are."

Jordan Peterson Resources:

Nathan and I talk about Jordan Peterson (JP) on this episode. JP is a Canadian professor, psychologist and YouTube phenomenon. Jordan Peterson is controversial: despised by some, hero to others and fascination for many. Also there are many who have never heard of him. I'm including resources here, because I think that the best way to learn about someone or something is to look at it from many perspectives.
Here is a collection of interviews with JP, conversations about JP, criticism of JP and Jordan Peterson doing his own thing. This list covers a pretty wide spectrum. Enjoy:
